This collection comprises two groups of material documenting work on a ballet in one act, ( ), which appears to have been staged by Cesare Coppini at La Scala, an opera house in Milan, on January 22, 1895. The first group includes two manuscripts relating to the choreography of the ballet by Emilio Graeb, to music by P. Hertel. One is a hand-written and illustrated choreographic synopsis, possibly fragmentary, reproduced and signed by Coppini, showing the placement of dancers in fifteen scenes. The other is a listing of the order of the dances written in Coppini's hand. The second group includes thirteen costume drawings from the ballet by Luigi Zamperoni, drawn in ink on tracing paper and mounted on stiff backing, annotated in black and red ink, and featuring costumes for the major dances.
